Visited Clos du Caillou last Saturday and bought some of these.
The 2006 Quartz is rich with silky layers of dark fruit, licorice and chocolate.
Well balanced with ripe tannin and a long sexy finish. Compared with 2005 maybe just lacking some complexity.
2007 CdR is one of the best 'ordinary' CdR 07's I tasted.
Lovely sensual nose with cinnamon and licorice. Tons of fruit and warm spicy mid palate. The finish is polished, supple, lush and very enjoyable....great great Q/P.

Re: TN: 2006 Clos du Caillou CdR Quartz - 2007 CdR
I've had the 98, 99, 00, and 01 of various iterations of this domaine (cdr, cdr "garrigues" [rouge and blanc], cdrv, but not the quartz). I would just buy this instead of messing around with some cheap Parker picks from the region if I was in need of such wines. Thanks, Harry.
