Your 2010 Wine of the Year

Post by robertgoulet »

A toss up for me:

1995 La Rioja Alta Rioja Reserva- Dill, black currant, soy, coconut and charcoal, perfect blend of new and old world, very seductive.

2001 Bahan Haut Brion-On the nose Red Velvet, broccoli, dusty cherries, soap(from the cab franc), motor oil, smoke and leather.
On the palate, gravel, cherry cassis, smooth velvet-like tannins, smokey beef jerky...love

Mine has to be the 1985 La Tache, closely followed by 1961 Palmer and 1978 LMHB. All tasted because of the generosity of others!!!

The La Rioja spends 4 years in American oak. Hence the dill, which I am fond of.

So far (three weeks to go, so it could change), it's 1982 Leoville Las Cases for me.

Sorry but is this the BWE wine of the year thread? if so isn't it meant to be about voting for the BWE wine that best represents the values of this site (value, accessibility, independence of judgement) rather than 'this is the best wine I drank this year and no you can't afford it either'?
