  • 2004 Château Rieussec - France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes (12/19/2010)
Based on initial sip I thought the notes below were going to come true (Intense, intense. Apricot, almonds, brown sugar, but beautifully balanced with bracing acid. Long finish) and this would be a great bottle however after being open an hour it started to fade and was flat then developed a bit of a bitter finish - never have had a sauternes do this to me before
  • 2004 Château d'Issan - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux (12/7/2010)
drank over two days .... a fine wine but just did not wow me
well integrated medium bodied bordeaux (89 pts.)
  • 1996 Clos du Marquis - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien (11/28/2010)
solid wine but not what i expected from my two bottles....easy to drink ...toasted oak, some layers of fruit mixed in, tannins but not over done (89 pts.)
  • 1985 Château Rieussec - France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes (11/14/2010)
it was OK expected more from a Rieussec but I may recall that this estate improve greatly sometime after the 85 (89 pts.)
