  Deep garnet. Nose was a mix of 75% Pride Reserve and 25% Shafer Hillside with a hint of armpit and VA. Taste was rich, mouthfilling with some powdery tannins on the end. Delish. (94 pts.)
• 2008 J. Rochioli Chardonnay Estate Grown - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (12/9/2011)
  Pale yellow. Nose was like a Peter Michael watered down 25%. Taste was exactly the same. Not bad, but on the lighter side. (91 pts.)
• 1998 Burge Family Shiraz Reserve Draycott - Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Barossa Valley (12/7/2011)
  Pretty deep garnet. Nose initially was plums with tire rubber, but with airing, the fruit emerged to a glorious plums, black fruits and a sweetness that one gets in Shafer Hillside. Taste was non-stop glorious with a lingering taste of what it smells like. Smoothness with no heat. Not OTT. Glorious and best Shiraz I have had in a dog's age. (96 pts.)
• 2007 Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Reserve - USA, California, Napa Valley (12/7/2011)
  Deep garnet. Nose and taste was quintessential Cali Cab and at this price, I no longer buy some of the 50$+ Cali's(do you hear footsteps Pride?) when one can get this. Delish. (93 pts.)

I've always been a fan of Anderson Conn Valley's Reserve Cabernet. Always at least very good, can age for 10-15yrs, and it's fairly priced.
