2010s selling well?
2010s selling well?
More discounted pricing from Premier Cru indicates it is not, most likely directly caused by the BD's edict. What was the price ceiling? I see splits of 2010 Smith Haut Lafitte for $29.99, splits of Malescot St. Exupery for $32.99, splits of Lynch Bages for $49.99, splits of Leoville Poyferre for $45....not yet back to earth, but darn near close.
I wonder when they'll complete delivery of my 2005s?

Wow! The BWE boycott is working!
Well done my fellow occupiers! Be strong. Be strong, comrades.

Haven't bought one yet, haven't pre-ordered any either!
Re: 2010s selling well?
No '10s purchased here either. And none on my radar.
Jon - I just got a case of '05s from PC last month. Still waiting on a half-dozen more bottles from them. But I have to say that even though they are later with the '05s than they have ever been with any other wines I've ordered from them, it does appear that they will eventually deliver on every bottle.

If I can get a case of 2010 Sociando-Mallet at $41 per bottle, I may grant myself an exemption....

I can't seem to notice the price lowering...I am still dizzy with 2010 pricing crap...JonB wrote:More discounted pricing from Premier Cru indicates it is not, most likely directly caused by the BD's edict. I broke down and bought 3 bottles of the 2010 d'Issan for $46/each. Cheaper than the '05 d'Issan! Parker gave it 94-96pts, FWIW.
Re: 2010s selling well?
Sales for 2010 Bordeaux remain soft. There are a few exceptions, but there is not a lot of demand. The wines are very expensive. Plus, the tannic, acidic nature of the wines that will require serious age will be a turn off to many American buyers. Due to the drop in the Euro, coupled with the lack of demand, it's quite possible American's will see lower prices for many wines when they are released.
On the other hand, my bet is, demand will increase for 2009. The wines are great and they were produced in an opulent style that should be perfect for many American Bordeaux fans. Not much 2009 was sold to America. If prices rise, American merchants will be forced to pay more money, or they will not be able to restock the wines.

Geez if we can get wines like 2010 d'Issan and 2010 Smith Haut Lafitte for $50-60, I may just have to relax the boycott! Now is not the time to let up though.... Solidarnosc! Solidarnosc!

Re: 2010s selling well?
PremierCru.net had an email sale yesterday on a bunch of 2010 Bordeaux. Not sure if it was a 1 day sale, though.
