I am leaning toward Italian, perhaps a couple of Brunellos. Will post once I decide.

We'll bring at least a brunello and a super tuscan.

Tom:

You and Gail are 2 yes? And how many bottles did you mention bringing?

I guess I will go Italian, with 2 Barolos (01 and 05).

This is a BWE event, right Michael-P? We wouldn't want to run out of wine!

I've pulled an Altare '90 Barolo and a Giacosa Bruno '90 Barolo Villero, an Antinori '95 Tignanello and a Pieve Santa Restituta (Gaja) '95 Brunello Rennina, and a '64 Amarone from Bertani.

I am going to reprise the 1998 Beaucastel, it was very nice when we had it at the same venue last time on 2009.
Yeah baby!

Jim,

Have not had a 98 Beaucastel since a gathering Rick Julien and a buddy arranged several years ago at his local Capital Grill. Look forward to sip.

Rick and Kathy are very happy. They have made some lifestyle/diet changes and Rick is no longer drinking wine - has lost a lot of weight and feeling healthier. I think he's sold off much or most of his cellar.

That is correct. They are doing well. Rick does not drink any wine anymore. They still follow BWE.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight. Things kicked off in great fashion at our dinner hosted by Stuart and Kathy-thanks again for the great wines. Food was excellent as well.

Please plan to arrive at Dino at 630 and dinner will be served at 7. As we all know, our dinners fill the evening so I think it best to start things on schedule!

The private room where we will be seated is at capacity and it may be warm so dress comfortably-it's a casual evening. Short sleeves are a good idea! We are on the second floor. The Daytons and their guests will be close but not too close as they have a reputation to maintain! That said, I imagine we will be visiting them with bottles to share.

Dean will provide plenty of stemware and I'll try to have decanters available.

See you soon!
