TN: a classy village red Burg.

Post by JonoB »

2007 Morey-Saint-Denis; Maison Lou Dumont; (天地人)
roses, tree sap, strawberry, raspberry, herbs, nicely poised and elegant. Soft, spicy structure. Intriguing, inviting but deep and contemplative... Not the most complex wine but with enough interest and a haunting nature that keeps you coming back for another sip. From memory this is a blend of two 1er Cru vineyards, but I can't remember which. Classic herby Pinot from Burgundy. A really long finish that mirrors the complexities of the palate beautifully. Herbs, grass. A wine that gives you a big hug, but if you meet the winemaker you'd see exactly why. Wonderfully loveable, *****(++) or [4.5+4.5+4.5+4.5=18/20]

I'm beginning to think I didn't buy enough 07 reds... Luckily they are still lurking.

There are plenty of lovely, distinctive ones about. :D
