TN: 2008 Lalande-Borie

Post by Jay Winton »

picked up one to try. A couple of hours in the decanter revealed a fairly soft wine with less structure than I would expect but nice Bordeaux fruit flavors and good length with some tannins. Given the softness at age 3.5 I'm not sure it's one for the long haul but for $24 no complaints. I'm finishing my case of the 2000 which have been enjoyable but I don't think this vintage is as good.

I really liked my 2000 Lalande-Borie bottles -- finished about 1 year ago. I thought they had real St. Julien red fruit character, and for $15, they were a steal. No not a "keeper," but I should have bought some in 2005 . . . maybe 2009 . . .
