These are the worst cases, when you are representing someone who is truly innocent but the public outcry is vehement....

A lot of pain ahead, for all involved.

Anyway, this 2006 Duhart Milon is amazingly smooth, it is drinking swell right NOW. This will have an amazing 30 year plateau of maturity! The more experience I have with these 2006s, the more impressed I am with how light on their feet they are, but with a solid backbone. This 2006 Duhart Milon is a beauty! 93 points.

Gosh, those are such sad cases, Jim. You have to feel for everyone involved -- no one's life will ever be the same. I can understand the feelings of the father who lost his daughter (in the YouTube video), but don't studies indicate that his claim, that stiff sentences prevent future occurrences of these sorts of tragedies, is wrong?

Glad the 06 Duhart is doing well -- I've got a case of it in the cellar. I also find the 06 d'Armailhac to be quite good.

I agree, the 2006s are indeed showing very well, from what I can tell. I too liked the d'Armailhac, as well as Lagrange, Leoville Poyferre, d'Issan, Clos Fourtet, Haut Bailley, and others. Lynch Bages was okay... certainly better than other recent years, but not in the mold of the great Lynches of the 80s....

Thoughts on whether 2006 d'Armailhac is worth purchasing for $29.99?

I'd get a six pack at that price if I were you, Bill, that's a very nice wine. I've drunk about two cases of it so far, don't have any left.

30 bucks is about right for the excellent 2006 d'Armailhac. I think I paid about $32 in NH for my case. I still say 2006 is an underrated vintage, I wouldn't mind looking for more wines like the 2006 d'Armailhac, Leoville Poyferre, etc., out there. The 2006 Haut Bailly was a stunning 95+ wine, but I doubt the price has remained reasonable.

I'd even go wild if I could get d'Armailhac for $32; and so would Nick I'll bet!

You guys obviously don't remember when we could drink 1995 Margaux in Quebec City restaurants for $150.
I passed, and opted for the 2004 Mouton for like $90, extremely young but orgasmically decadent with duck flambe at Le Continental....

Well, today $150 (+/- $6) up here will get you a bottle of 07 or 08 Pontet Canet, or an 05 Calon Segur or 05 Lascombes. If you want an 04 Mouton, it'll cost you $400; at least in this province.

$400 for 2004 Mouton? We could get the 1995 Petrus in a Quebec City restauraunt for $275.

I have one bottle left of 2006 Duhart Milon, a 6L of 2002 Duhart Milon, and a case of 2005 Duhart Milon, I suspect that that is all the Duhart I will ever own again.
