TN: two Italian wines.

2007 Barolo "Flori"; S.C.A Araldica
tar, roses, dark plum, earth, perfume and varnish, the initial VA type notes have blown off with air, herbs, sand and salinity, balanced and elegant. With a short but pleasant finish. For the money, excellent: 59+/100

2010 Lagrein, Cantina Tramin; Südtirol-Alto Adige
cherry, plum, liquorice, really fresh, elegant and with lots of pure fruit, herbs, slate, rocks, black cherry, Tarmac, herbs, minerals, earth, soil, grass and cool climate feel to it. Hints of wood spice, some flowers and an autumn meadow. An Alpine Meadow. Quite lovely. 63+/100

<50/100 good wine but I wouldn't buy a case
<60/100 very good showing grape and terroir character
<70/100 excellent example of a wine from this country/region/grape
<85/100 one of the very best wines that the region has to offer.
>85/100 one of the very best wines you are ever likely to drink
