1999 Encostas do Tua; Vinho Tinto, Vinhos Vale de Corça: Douro
Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca.
leaves, herbs, sweet plum, cassis, tobacco, cedar, wood and a subtle developed character. Nice length, cassis, plum, herbs, liquorice, cherry, and some soft, subtle complexity, perhaps only a 63+/100 wine but because it comes from my late uncle's cellar... 84/100

Re: TN: a sentimental Portuguese wine.
Thanks David,
He helped us a lot in many ways, and it was a shock when we heard the news he was only in his 60s.
He probably felt of us as more of his children than his own because of our mutual love of wines.
He only has stuff he likes to drink everyday in his cellar, but he keeps it depending on vintage until he felt it ready.
He is drinking 01,02 and 03 now, with 00, 04 and 05 were still waiting to be drunk.
It was surreal to go down... And it was only Cru Bourgeois down there and some late 90s Sauternes, village Burgundy and some odd Portuguese wines.
All really good but nothing extravagant.
