Rodano Chianti Classico 2006
Some maturity showing in the rich purple robe. Leather, hint of tobacco, earth, black cherries in the enticing and bold nose. Delicious on the palate with more cherries, currants, chocolate, subtle spices. Good acidity and some faint tannins, but mostly resolved. Great structure and drinking very well now. Excellent sweetness to the fruit but a dry wine. Great balance. Medium bodied with a good finish and texture. A really enjoyable wine that I've been wanting to revisit for a long time. Cooked some Pennsylvania grown pork chops from the butcher on top of the stove along with thyme, garlic and olive oil. A real treat!
