2005 PB and LB Info

Post by Chateau Vin »

One of the local stores has 2005 PB and LB for 125 bucks each and wondering if its worth. Never had 05 PB...How is it?

Any thoughts? :?:

I had it once at a tasting, so 2 ounce pour at most, no food, I thought it was tight and a tannic beast. No doubt will be great some day but today is not that day. Buy it and try to forget you have it for 20 years.

Well, 2005 PB (Pichon Baron?) was swimming in the $140s pricing post release. So, I guess 125 bucks is a good buy.

As far as 2005 LB is concerned, both Lynch Bages and Leoville Barton were at one point in the high $150s post release. So, I suppose 125 bucks is good for either of them.

BTW, my note was about Pichon Baron. The '05 Lynch Bages struck me the same way, just too closed at that point to say much about. Didn't stop me from buying two bottles though!

Did not taste the Leoville Barton that I can recall. I did like the 2006 a lot though.
