After a not very promising beginning to the 2012 growing season, but with very dry weather at the end (one of the dryest Augusts on record) it is pissing with rain this afternoon.

Who's got their crop in and who hasn't?
Sorry, I wouldn't know.
I was in the Médoc at the beginning of October and it appeared that the name estates were mostly starting on Monday the 9th.
Let us hope that they got much of the crop in by then.
I'm hoping that 2012 will be what they call an "Atlantic" vintage: one that reflects the normally wet climate and slow ripining with good acidity.
Because I tend to prefer these to the big, ballsy vintages.
Best regards,
Alex R.
And a hard rain's gonna fall...

Alex,
Safe to say that 2012 is the "vintage of the year"?
