TN : a Beaujolais and an italian

Post by Nicklasss »

After my deception with the 2011 Morgon from Lapierre, I bought another 2011 Beaujolais from one of my favorite producer, the 2011 Beaujolais Les griottes from Pierre-Marie Chermette. That one was way more satisfying, with medium red color, good Beaujolais nose with light acidic cheeries, red berries, and some light candy. In mouth, medium concentration, drink easily, but if kind of genuine ''gouleyant'' Beaujolais. Well done and low price. Maybe some flowers on the final. 12 % alcohol. Good to excellent. TN : 86.

Last night, I opened a 2011 Morellino di Scansano from Poggio in Lupa. Nice light Sangiovese, with strawberries, herbs, red berries. In mouth, simple and a bit diluted. Less intense than the Beaujolais from the previous night. Good acidity but very light finish. OK only. TN : 83.

I'll buy more of the Chermette Beaujolais, as I like that type of ''only pleasure'' wines.
