Election Night Tipple

A certain member of this board would like the other members to refocus the discussion back to wine and away from politics. So, what will you be drinking tonight as you watch the election returns?
Let me make a couple of guesses:
JimHow: A "Left" bank wine.
Stefan: A moderately aged Champagne with popcorn.
Who else and what else? Will anyone step up and declare for a "Right" banker?

I hope Lucie is not reading today as we are really short on Champagne right now (mostly because she always chooses to drink it if there is an opportunity to do so). She has been hounding me to buy some. I wonder if she will settle for an American sparkler since this is election night in the USA.

I guess we'll drink an American wine, probably a Ridge Zin. I think Lucie did not look at BWE today and decided to make a Margarita pizza for dinner in front of the TV.

We drank 2001 Ridge Geyserville. This zin is still fruity but has some leather and tobacco mixed in. It is still quite a good wine.

2009 la tour de mons
Tough to beat this Margaux for the price, this is a serious wine, plenty of structure for the cellar
Decanted for 1hr. drank over three hours...Nice nose, floral and light coffee grounds, herbs, velvety raspberry....palate, ripe fruit, good weight...possibly a tad heavy but the acidity helps prop this wine up, black cherries and spice, tannic at the finish while giving up a bit of heat...wait 5 to open again...real nice April at 20-25bones
