Anyone know anything about the style and quality of this wine? Patrick?
Thanks,

Never had it, Chris. But this Chateau seems very consistent to me (in at least good vintages) and there is almost no price variability: for example, you can buy the 2000, 2003, 2005 and 2009, all between $20-$25.

For my money, I'd try the 2009, its early reports on Winebeserkers are excellent (Astor has it in stock for $24). I have really enjoyed the 2003 as well. Most of my 1996s were musty/off.

If you crack one, let us know!

Thanks, Patrick. I tried the '09 and it is indeed very good to excellent. I tried the '08 and I thought it was a little on the commercial side, but '08 is like that. They have the '06 at Sherry-Lehmann so I was thinking of giving it a shot. I know it's not a grave risk but I just thought I'd ask.

Agree on the 08, though with the caveat that it seemed rather unformed, which shouldn't surprise.

So, if I like '06, and I like Lanessan, then it follows that I should like the '06 Lanessan. I just wonder if Lanessan is a wine that goes through a substantial dumb phase. I guess I will find out.
