I vote for keeping everything here for the historical record. It'll all be moved off the front page fairly soon anyway. Plus, it creates a sense of activity.

I'm going to post a welcome thread closer to 4:00 p.m.

Yeah I think we had some very good discussions about formulation of the site and i think it will be good for people to be able to look at the record and see some of the rationales for some of the stuff we've done here.

I agree - leaving it gives people a chance to see what was done and why - if they are interested.

Anyway to allow personalization? All this pink stuff kinda freaks me out.

David,

Yeah, default pink stuff. Title bars and such are pink. Like the bar with Home Retailers and Online Resources BWE Archive Forum. It's pink.

Alch... It is part of our effort to offer a "kinder and gentler" BWE.

We felt it was important to keep the discussions among the managers concerning the decision-making process, in case anyone might be interested.

My screen is purplish, I wouldn't call it pink. We can examine the issue though. We've established a protocol concerning decisions about the website, whereby suggestions/concerns like yours will be discussed amongst the managers, who will attempt to reach a consensus. I envision myself defering to the managers the vast majority of the time, but reserve a benevolent dictator veto.

Again, it is all part of a goal to make the site a more friendly place... without losing our edge....

I just like to ability to change. I like earth colors, browns and greens and such. My default background for text is a green shade with black text, MUCH easier on my eyes than brilliant white background.

Just wondering. If it's an option you should offer it. Opinion.

Yeah - I'm seeing more purple than pink, too. But I like the idea that the user can select whatever color scheme appeals to them. I think the software has some acccommodation for that. There's a drop-down box in the user control section, but right now it only contains one choice. Maybe that's all you get with the free version, I just don't know...

DavidG,

Could be the brightness on my screen or just genetics or video cards, but yes, far more pink than purple.

I just think if there is a way to allow personalization then allow it.

I'm much more in the 'gray' zone than the 'blank or white' zone.

If not, I can cope.
