2010 Le Dame de Montrose?

Post by OrlandoRobert »

Okay, on one thread I poo-poo the critics' scores, and on this one, like a lemming, I ask, "hey, is this a good wine . . . Uncle Bob scored it a 94 and its $55"?

Well, BWE'ers, have you tried it? Seems like a reasonable value if the scores is close to accurate.

Tasted the '05 a few times and it was a nice wine, but a nice wine at $25-$30...I have a hard time believing this is twice as good

Come on little white boy (blanquito), that's 2 bills! I like $55 much better as a price point!

Yeah, and I could talk about all of the '82 Gruaud Larose I bought off the shelf at $14, but times have changed and a lot has happened to wine pricing in the last 5 (or 25) years.

Best price I can see for the '05 Dame is $60+, so the 2010 is less money for a possibly better wine, making the "I'll backfill with the 05's" story a bit less compelling to my mind.

Yeah, crazy to see what the prices r like now, though some may consider the '05 for $60....I would pay xtra 4 a little age(for the right wine)....,,I do not think this is that wine

Marc -

Are you getting the panty dropper from onlinewine.net in FL? I think that's what you said. They also have the 2010 le Dame de Montrose for $45. Gary's has it for $55. I'd pull the trigger at $45, but what do you know of this retailer? I'm not a fan of ordering futures from a retailer I have never bought from before. Not to cast aspersions, just stating my buying practice.
