The 91 and 92 Dalla Valles were two of my all-time fave Cabs. Color me jealous!

How are they drinking? Worth seeking out again?

At our end of the table we are currently revisiting those two wines. I personally love both if them, but the consensus seems to be that the 1992 is shining more tonight. Wow, a tremendous dinner.

There's got to be a morning after.
Feeling remarkably fresh this morning, gonna go for a little jog.
Another epic event last night, I must say I was quite impressed with the way these Cali wines performed, they were consistently excellent. Maybe some lacked the profoundness of Bordeaux but they were still nonetheless fun wines representative of their region.
Food and service were excellent, very reasonably priced, thank you Howard for setting us up there.

I gave a call to Jim, 2 hours ago, and everything seemed in control. Dallas is like a superb BWE convention place, and I even talk to my old friend MichaelP who start his day with a glass of the 2001 Château Lafleur. Geez that start a day in a nice way.

Let us know more, later, us, the unfortunated, unaccomplished, impossible to attend, BWEers that read and follow the BWE convention in réal time.

Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh

What a fantastic event! Lots of Haut Brion (at minimum 71, 81, 82 (corked), 85, 86, 90, 96, 98, and 02) plus tons of other great wines. 1982 PLL, 82 Canon, 86 GL, 83 Lynch Bages, 89 PB, 86 Rauzan Segla, and that is just scratching the surface.

For any of you who think about attending these events and skip, you are doing yourself an injustice. Great people, great times, great wines. It doesn't get much better than this.

Just after 8am and the week has gone by in a flash. Wonderful tour of Texas and hooking up with old BWE friends. The wines were great but it's the friendships that make the weekend!

A little groggy this am but people already filtering back to their normal lives leaving to catch flights with Rob D and Chris B shuffling off through the front door of the hotel before I could catch them to say goodbye.

To everyone just a short thanks for being part of our lives and making these such a fabulous reason to get away.

Until next time.

PS The wines and peoples generosity were again over the top!

At the airport, just parted from David and Peggy.
Yet another beautiful weekend, everything went perfectly.
As usual the weekend just flew by.
It was great to see everyone again.
What a tremendous amount of fun, taking three days out of our crazy lives to spend it with great friends, food, wine, activities, whoopie pies, etc.
If any of you have never been to one of these events you really owe it to yourself.
Start planning now! We're considering going back to DC in 2014.
The wines were absolutely superb, I drank much aged stuff that I would not otherwise ever see.
It was fun debating about Robert Parker, 2009 Giscours, assassination conspiracy theories, etc.
Howard Marc Spector and Lisa get A++ from their grateful benevolent dictator, the events were flawless.
It was great to get my annual call from Nic, whom I quoted in my annual sentimental speech: "BWE is about the people!"
Safe travels to everyone and thank you to everyone for coming, and thank you to BWEers far and wide for creating such a dynamic site.
We'll see you all again (most likely in DC) next year !

The wines and were great, but the people were greater. Thanks, Howard, for putting this memorable convention together.
