- 1996 Château Labégorce - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux (4/28/2013)
Dark center, amber rim. Smells of light cedar, dried red fruits,
a tad dusty, hints of blueberries after time in glass. Straight-
that is to say medium weight, dry tobacco hints on palate, not
a classy Margaux but decent with typical claret character and a
lengthy finish. Almost reminds of a Pauillac, or even St. Estephe
in structure. Not at all over the hill. The property was apparently
never classified. Re-purchase? Not sure. JM (87 pts.)
