- 1996 Château Pedesclaux - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac (6/10/2013)
Dark center with garnet rim, up nose of dark fruits, light cedar and
currants. Medium weight in body but as the wine evolves in glass
great flavors that build on the palate. A real terroir-like wine that
only claret gives. Long finish. A great 5er Pauliiac- a real Bordeaux
lovers wine, not Cal. like at all although one taster posted it as Cal.
One professional thought it to be simple but he didn't wait for it to
develop, at least to my impression. JM (90 pts.)

Re: TN: 1996 Château Pedesclaux
Pédesclaux (you have to be careful with the accents, because "pédé" means "faggot" in French) is owned by Jacky Lorenzetti, who also owns Château Lilian Ladouys in Saint-Estèphe and just bought 50% of Château d'Issan in Margaux.
The wine was really very mediocre for years, and then people began to take notice, especially when Decanter magazine gave their 2005 very high marks.
They've opened a bed and breakfast there, and are clearly ambitious.
Best regards,
Alex R.
