Mid nineties Bdx Advice

Post by Chateau Vin »

Can someone suggest a Mid Nineties or early Nineties Bdx, that is drinking well and is around 120 bucks or under?

Grand Puy Lacoste????????

Should be available to find around that price range.

Look at
http://www.wine-searcher.com/find/gand+puy+lacoste/1996

Wine Cellarage has it for 128.
Ask for Alan Marschok.

He'll have other suggestions if that doesn't work for you.

And in the spirit of full disclosure Alan is a long time personal friend.
But he's been ITB for 40+ years and knows his stuff. And pricing is very reasonable.

But I don't know where you reside and be aware it is impossible to ship economically in this hot weather.

1996 Pape Clement is very good right now. Wine House (CA) has it for $135 right now, but I snagged some at auction just a year or so ago for $65-70 and I saw a bottle or two similarly priced at July online Acker auction (which is now over).

I always liked the 96 LaLagune but it has been a while since I tried one.
