BWE DC '14

Post by JimHow »

I realize it is a little early, but it might be good to start conceptualizing some dates for BWE '14 in DC next spring.

Usually we schedule it around April 1st.

The two weekends that fall around that time this year are:

Thursday, March 27 - Sunday, March 30

and

Thursday, April 3 - Sunday, April 6.

Any initial thoughts?

Nothing on my calendar either of those weekends as of now. I'll check those dates with the Academy.

Either weekend is fine with me. In normal weather, the first weekend in April is more likely better for cherry blossoms.

I think we are going to call DC '14 the "Bobby Goulet/Orlando Bobby Honorary BWE Convention...."

How about 1990's as the theme?

For those who find DavidG's remark puzzling, I think he meant

Ricky Bobby:
A random boner at an inappropriate time; for example,
"I got a Ricky Bobby in Chemistry today, when we were learning about the periodic table"

rather than

Ricky Bobby is a Dallas Texas dance brought to fame by B-Hamp the dance mixes between the D-town boogie, a wheelchair motion, a dip, a flex, then a karate like punch to the front(called the pose).
"Do the Ricky Bobby stop pose for the frame, then I dip and we all do the same thang"

or

He's my neighbor's ex-wife's old college roommate. And he means so much to me and my fuzzy pillow. I like to picture jesus as him and I'm still wearin my pee pants. Peaches and cream, Help me Tom Cruise!!!
Ricky Bobby don't you put that evil on me!

We could always come in Drag. Your shortness and thick calves are nicely accentuated by your retro platform boots.

The challenge of a new convention in DC, is not the food, the wines, the attractions or the company, but to find an hotel that can held the BWE noisy Motley Crue late at night, without calling the security/police.

And I think it is mandatory, especially if the 2 Bobby's will be there...

Last time I was in D.C. at the beautiful rennassiance hotel around 3a.m. Me and the Mrs. accidentally became locked out of our room after bum rushing another friends room down the hall...we were tanked...my wife was wearing her bedtime borderline see-through white tank top, no bra...we had to make our way to the lobby basically in our bedtime attire...as security witnessed our emergence from the elevator in our stupor they converged immediately...they became quite excited by my wife's wardrobe...good times for all, that's the kinda people we are :)

OK, BobbyG, I sense an imminent Benevolent Dictatorial Edict from Jim commanding you & Mrs. G to attend. And jammies as the dress code for the after-party. ;)
