2007 Bourgogne Rouge; Domaine Anne Gros
smoke, meat and a rich textured nose; earth, soil, Indian spices and plenty of depth for a little wine. The oak has really integrated and it is well balanced. Not particularly high acid, cassis, graphite and some raw wild raspberry. Subtle and delicate, from the previous two bottles it just needed another six months for the oak to integrate properly. Herbs, spice and rosemary with some decaying roses lingering in the background; pleasantly autumnal but a more wet dark forest than a bright sunny autumnal day; some rain and moisture in the air. A bit of stink appears with time and thought. I'm very glad the oak and darkness has disappeared and some bright earthy berries fruit with a hint of leafy, forestry has arrived in the background. This has brought a smile to my face because of how it has grown into something thoroughly loveable. 64+/100
