- 2004 Domaine Armand Rousseau Père et Fils Charmes-Chambertin - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru (10/28/2013)
All about structure, dark ruby, with a barnyardy nose that gives way after a few seconds to dark fruits. On the palate, the wine has a dusty slightly grainy texture but with some fantastic fruit and is extremely well made, there is a hint of the greenness characteristic of the vintage but it's really not too bad. Wine has a very deep structure with layers of flavors and continued to evolve all evening long. It would pair great with any food! (93 pts.)

The greenness was very pronounced early on in many '04s, but by now it is hardly noticeable in most. I hesitated to buy '04s when they came out but now purchase some at auction from time to time for near term drinking.
