I usually bring Rhones or California Cabernets to the Friday dinner. You heathens were incapable of appreciating my 1989 Beaucastel last year, so this year I will have to hit you over the head with some young over-the-top New World Cab, Syrah or Grenache. I will warn you in advance that it will not be for the faint of heart. Your palate may not recover in time for Saturday's dinner and your teeth may stay purple for a week.

I will be bringing 1964 Baroli. Theme will probably be "anything but Bordeaux" with the sub theme of "yummy".

If theme is ''Anything but Bordeaux'', that means we're allowed to bring a modern Chateau Pavie or Péby Faugères...

Hi Jay.

Sorry to ask again, but can we bring our own bottles of wine, if yes, are we limited? Trying to plan what I will bring with me from Québec.

Thanks.

Yes, as in the past, everyone brings wine and there are no limits. As I said earlier, the restaurant list is not good so I suggest sourcing from a local retailer. Despite the BD stirring the pot (see above posts), the theme is anything but Bordeaux.

23 with MichaelP and Nalan so room for a few more, I'll have to submit a final count to the venue a week out so the 21st is the unofficial cutoff date though there may be a little flexibility.

Still room for a few more but I need to reserve two spots for possible guests. 30 is the max. I plan to give the count to the GM on Friday.

What wines are people bringing?

I'll bring a Barolo, a Burgundy (a Saint-Jacques) and something from the Rhone.

We'll have white that should go well with the onion soup, a Giacosa '98 Asili which should be drinking well, take a flyer on a Lungarotti '78 Torgiano Riserva "Rubesco" that has been in the cellar for 30 years, and maybe one or two others. (We don't want to run out of wine, right?)

Are we buying bubblies off the list?
