2006 favourites

Post by Bacchus »

Since there are still lots of 2006s around, perhaps it's time the fans of that vintage list their favourites. The purpose of the exercise is purely mercenary. Before they're all gone we should reserve for ourselves the opportunity to get as many of the good ones as possible. :D So, with that noble aim in mind, why don't we each list our favourite 06s. Off the top of my head my list includes: PLL, Duhart Milon, DomChev, Pontet Canet, Rauzan Segla. Okay I hate this list because in many ways it's kinda obvious. So, in addition to your top wines of the vintage, I'd also be interested in people's top 2nds, so to speak, or top petit chateaux. And notes might be good too, for those that have them or can remember that well. And Jim, we expect an extra long list from you since you're such an advocate of the vintage. :D

Good idea, Bacchus, I think we need a 2006 tasting or a 2006 month or some such thing.

Off the top of my head, I like:

Duhart Milon
Lagrange
Haut Bailly
Pichon Baron
D'Issan
Clos Fourtet
Pontet Canet

I like 2006 Burgundy as well.

Believe it or not, Gruaud Larose is excellent. Lagrange is very good too.
