Re: Question re 2012 J.J. Prums
The only 2012 Prum I have had so far is the Graacher Himmelreich Kabinett, but it is fantastic. 2012 is a good ripeness AND good acidity vintage, so I would buy, buy, buy. I did. (though my pricing was $3-$5 lower, but that was pre-arrival)

I will keep that in mind, Claret, I've got a few 2001s that have been sitting down there since release.

The last several years have seen more approachable Prum wines. They still have the density for long aging though.

Well done BD, well done.
My love of German Riesling accounts for over 20 cases of Germans in my offsite lockers. The problem is I am overstocked in general and want to tighten the storage belt so I can consolidate one of units down one size soon.
I have tasted exactly one 2012 and it was a delicious Mosel Trocken so of course I bought a bottle. My quandary is this vintage according to David and others is at least very good and maybe great. It looks like I will have to be content backfilling in a few years although the harvest was lowish yielding and closeouts may be infrequent.
So enjoy your JJ's and remember the higher the Pradikat the longer the aging curve. Consider the Auslese the equivalent of a First Growth in terms of lasting and improving for decades. All the wines will appear to be less sweet when they are aged.

Re: Question re 2012 J.J. Prums
Very nice. I did not get an offer for the Badstube Kabinett. Too bad, as Badstube is a personal favorite. Ended up with Himmelreich Kabinett which is not so tough to take.
Generally I do not start drinking Prum Auslese until age 15 or so. Never had one that was too old.

I couldn't have done it without the enablement.
I got mine at PJs in Manhattan, they ship to most states.

Last thing I need is more Riesling.
