2014 UGC Tasting

Anyone else going? Featuring the 2011 vintage, perhaps it's not as exciting as '05, '09 or '10, but my wife and I almost always go and it's a great opportunity to taste a large number of recently released bordeaux. And the 2011 Sauternes are apparently quite good. If anyone's attending the Los Angeles event (a week from Friday, 1/24) let me know and we can say hi. Enjoyed meeting JonB there a couple of years ago. Wally's (an LA wine shop) is, as always, hosting the LA event, and there is a pre-event at which the following wines (I'm told by Wally's; this isn't published or official) will be poured:

Perhaps because a not-so-acclaimed vintage is being poured, discounted tickets (at least for the Los Angeles tasting) are available -- google "UGC 2014 bordeaux and your city" and offers should pop up. For the Los Angeles tasting, Amazon Local has tickets at 50% off.

Wow, the price at SF UGC keeps on going up. Even for 2011 vintage tasting, it is 85 bucks...

Are any chicago BwErs gonna attend UGC tasting on 22nd? I will be attending from 1 to 5 pm at the Drake..

Pomilion - have fun...regardless of vintage, the ugc tastings to me are always a great learning experience. Please post your impressions. I purchased only 1 case of 2011, Pichon Baron, a wine that I like in weak vintages as well strong.
