Hospital, I don't like...

Post by Nicklasss »

Béatrice is at the hospital since Sunday. what I thought was roseola, is not. after many testing, it is not one of the commun 18 viruses. Waiting more results this Friday or Monday, from a lab of a bigger hospital.

She seems to be in recovery now, but it is still early. Symptoms were pink red stains on the back, fiever hard to lower since Sunday (last 12 hours, it finally went down), red eyes, each 30-45 minutes a deep cough. Hope she gets better soon, as it is stressing for the parents, and family life is up side down since than!

Keeping my fingers crossed, and my prayers focused.

MC just called me: fiever again, Béatrice removed her intravenous fluid injector (sorry, don't know the right term). they couldn't plug it back in an arm or a hand, so plug it in the head... I just wish it will end soon.

By the way, a nice moment for her 1 year old birthday, that is Friday...

I feel really bad inside.

My thoughts are with you and Béatrice, Nic. It's always painful to see your kids feeling sick, and all the more so if it's bad enough for hospitalization. Wishing her a speedy recovery.

I hope she gets better quickly. It is easier to be sick yourself than to have your child suffer.

Thanks for all the good words.

We're out of the hospital since last night, and Béa feels better. Don't know exactly what she got, but it seems to be behind her now.

I'm réacting quickly and slightly negatively, when one of my kid find the way to the hospital. A healthy family worth more than anything else.

Just back from le Massif and catching up. Sorry to hear about Beatrice and glad to know that she's on the mend. She won't even know a thing happened but mama and papa have been scarred for life!

Dstgolf, I completely forgot to come back to you, as you were not too far from here.

I'll try to go to Ottawa soon, and will let you know. A few weeks in advance. We'll make sure to have dinner together this next time.

Great news Nic, very relieved and happy for you and the whole family. I don't suppose that would include snowboarder Dominique Maltais?

David,

Dominique Maltais is from a little town at the base of le Massif in Petite Rivierre St Francois, Charlevoix Quebec. She grew up on the mountain and one of the double black diamond mogul runs is already named after this young Canadian Olympian. Her mother works the ticket sales desk at the bottom of the hill and her dad is the mayor of the tiny town. Quie a family story in the region that all are very proud of. The banners of felicitations were flying everywhere through the town celebrating her great repeat silver in snowboard cross (roller derby meets snowboarding). It's great to see the support these small towns pour into their local heroes and we as Canadians get very emotional in rallying around everyone who has put so much work into becoming an Olympian let alone winning a medal.

These games were great apart from the unjust Western propaganda about how unprepared the Russians were. Terrorists threats were concerning and blown out of proportion. I'm very happy to see that the athletes dominated the headlines and not the psychoes of the world that were threatening to hijack these games and hats off to the Russians for pulling off a fantastic venue without a hitch to date( at least that we know of!)

Congratulations to all of the athletes and fans of Socchi 2014. A truly fantastic 17 days of fabulous competition.

Danny

PS Nice to see Canada pull off the Gold in both mens/womens hockey/curling.

That was an epic come from behind victory for the Canadian women's hockey team. Painful to be on the short end of that stick but hats off to their determination and tenacity!
