Again, as we never know which bottle can show up at the BWE convention, list what you would like to try..

1. 1989 Château Haut-Brion
2. 1990 Château Beauséjour-Duffau Lagarosse
3. 1982 Château l'Évangile
4. 1990 Château Montrose
5. 1986 Château Léoville Las Cases
6. A great LaLa (I'm a fan of Côté-Rôtie, but only had the 1996 Guigal La Landonne that was excellent, but not glorious).

Dreaming, Dreams, dreams, dreams...

What no 1990 Beausejour Duffau?

I guess I'll just drink the bottle I've been saving all these years................

1. 1990 Beausejour Duffau
2. 1990 Beausejour Duffau
3. 1990 Beausejour Duffau
4. 1990 Beausejour Duffau
5. 1990 Beausejour Duffau

Seriously?

Other than the 1990 Beausejour Duffau, these are all dream wines that I would never expect to be able to find, or afford, or to be in any semblance of drinkability. Unless they were fakes. From youngest to oldest:

1. 1990 Beausejour Duffau
2. 1947 Cheval Blanc
3. 1931 Quinta do Noval Nacional
4. 1900 Margaux
5. 1811 Yquem

You right Rob, in my 2 listings, I did not think to much about St-Émilion, wonder why, but completely forget that "horror of nature" that is the 1990 Château Beausejour-Duffau Lagarosse.

I correct that, being probably just second to the 1989 Château Haut-Brion.

The fact is that I need to do that extra effort, to go south to North Carolina, with a 1990 Château la Conseillante, to sample your 1990 BDL.

OK, I had to think long and hard about that one.

Any great vintage of the following:
La Tache
Romanee Conti
Henri Jayer Cros Parenthoux
Either Romanee Conti or Leflaive Montrachet
And
Any pre-phylloxera Lafite or Margaux

So mainly Burgundy :-(

Well, now that I've drank the 1990 Beausejour Duffau with good friends, my Bordeaux fantasies have been fulfilled ;-)

I've been lucky enough to drink a few of these, but of course not most.

You left bank fanatics left off the greatest Bordeaux I have ever tasted - 1961 Petrus (magnum). Over 100 points if there is such a thing.

It wasn't my bottle. A couple of friends picked it up in Las Vegas from a room temperature display in the lobby of one of the fancy hotels at a price at the time of 2/3s usual retail. Risky, but it worked out for them. Sold one and drank the other 2 for free. This was about 10 years ago.
