Have a great convention, and happy drinking!

Got in about 30 minutes ago. In Room 312 at Gtown Suites. Looks like I'm next door to Stefan and Lucie. Keep it down in there, you guys! There's some serious uncorking and sniffing going on over here. Looks like the two wines I'm bringing to dinner tonight are in decent shape. Going to wrap the bottles now.

Paula and I will really miss being a part of the tradition this year, and she loves DC! She says "hi" to everyone, and we hope to make next year, wherever it is. Carry on!

Wishing you all one helluva good time!!!

I wish, of course, I could be there with you...

Consolation prize: en primeur week starts on Monday. I'll be spending a couple of days tasting the new vintage and have appointments at 4 first growths.
Still, the ultimate pleasure of wine is not to analyze it, rate it, second-guess it.
Rather, it is to drink the stuff with friends.

Wishing you a tremendously convivial, vinous time.

All the best,
Alex
