Numerous BWEers have arrived safely.
I have taken the first few symbolic bites of la pie de la whoopie and have removed my wines for the weekend....

Yes, that is me posting a selfie with a 1989 Lynch Bages, which DavidG generously brought as part of a blind tasting and which Winona Chief and I, in a minority, selected as our favorite among three wines, including. 89 VCC and. 99 Psvie in a blind tasting...

Wow , you should see the wines we are drinking tonight!

A spectacular dinner last night, what ended up being 1989 VCC, 1989 Lynch, and 1999 Pavie, served double blind, all performed very well. Most of the group picked the 1989 VCC but Winona Chief and I picked the 89 Lynch. (Phew!) Rob and I guessed it to be a 1988 Lynch, it was clearly the product of DavidG's impeccable cellar.

Thank you Chris Bublitz for getting us started with such a great event! I'll have to talk about the wines more later. Everyone was looking great, looking forward to seeing other BWEers coming in today.

Fantastic fun. Proud BD was onto the Lynch Bages. We mlssed by a year but pretty good for double blind. Love this group of no nonsense Bordeaux enthusiasts. Can't wait to see everyone else today.

Maybe I'm just getting older, but I thought last night was extra wild than usual..

The madness on Friday night started at the BD champagne reception....

After the great Friday dinner (thanks to Jay!) we ended up in the BD's room trying more wine, including a tired low shoulder 59 Beausejour. After we left BD's room, I have evidence that I sent an sms to a friend at 245a, but the rest is a bit hazy....
