It was a great time, and to be fair with you Robert, I tried to put all my weight in the balance, to get the next convention in Florida... for me, would be possible to stay a full week and bring the kids.

And yes, DavidG brought the 2000 SHL that was very nice, and Tom in DC Ithink brought the 2004 SHL, but both wines were in your honor.

For the blind tasting 2000 vs 2002 results, I can't be of any help. DavidG and/or HM$ nned to do a full report.

But I think that the 2000 Léoville Poyferré finished 1st, followed by two 2002...

By the way, I'm enjoying right now a glass of the 2000 Beauséjour-Duffau opened last night, and still very very good. Very classic dark berries and lots of minerality/earth tones. I like it!

On a train heading northbound, as my flight was canceled due to... bad weather in Maine.

Howard and Lisa tallied the votes, I'm not quite sure what the results were .
I think it was a split decision!
I'll tell you, I had a hard time differentiating the vintages.
I was impressed by how 2002-like the 2000 vintage was.

The 2000 Léoville Poyferré out classed everything else in the 2000/2002 lineup.
Nothing else was even close.

@robert goulet - it might be a little premature with the "no jail time" - not everyone has reported in safely home. :-)

Another great convention, and thanks to the BD for his as-ever magnanimous benevolence, to mr. vino, DavidG and Winona Chief for putting together great events and to everyone else for getting here and making these sessions great! I'm guessing that "liquid brunch at the bistro" will become a scheduled stop on any future DC gatherings. But after the ^$^!@#$^% weather this weekend (and was anyone still around for the hail, sleet and snow Sunday afternoon?), I'm sure Gail and I will get behind any effort to go to warmer climes next year. But we could be talked into France pretty easily. Or other wine country. Or whatever anyone has in mind - we'll be there.

I agree Tom, those brunches at the bistro were so much fun.
You and Gail looked great, it was fun to see you again and goof off for a couple days.
