Question re 1990 Markham Merlot and 1997 Roundhill Merlot

A lawyer friend of mine has a client who has these wines and wants to know whether to drink them.
I've never heard of these wines.
Are they swill?

They were never much to begin with. Basically grocery shelf fodder.
Hate to think what they taste like now.

The 1990 Markham had so much fruit upon release (a distributor I used to work for at that time sold it) that there should be something left if stored well. A recent CT note says as much. Not familiar with Roundhill.

I would have guessed that the Markham might be alive, in an "if you love old wine" kind of way - we unearth things that "aren't dead yet" all the time.
On the other hand, I'm pretty sure half bottles of Round Hill Merlot used to be the free hotel arrival gift for frequent travelers back in the day...
