2011 Cubera Romagna Sangiovese Superiore

Post by Nicklasss »

With pasta caponata, we needed a light red wine tonight. Of course, with pasta, the Sangiovese is a natural friend.

So I opened a bottle of the 2011 Cubera Romagna Sangiovese Superiore that is surely not a Chianti. But it is a nice version of the Sangiovese anyway. Simple, with a nice dark red color, the nose is not complex but franc, very nice red berries and rasberries, and cherries. The mouth has some light cinnamon flavors, with the cherry and red berries, good fat, medium tannins, final on more cherries. Maybe a light smoke too. Finally, very convenient, not long, but very well done. Grainy and slightly rustic too. I like it for the approachability and good character. TN: 86-87. Good now.
