Can't remember from which vintage it starts (2008?), but Jaboulet has been bought buy the Frey, owners of La Lagune.
I did not have the chance before to try the wine since the change, but the 2010 Jaboulet Croze-Hermitage Les Jalets made a good impression on me last night. Very Syrah, and very Northern Rhône in style. Dark red color, power on the nose, with blackberries, smoke, ink, fat meat light violet flowers and blackcherries. in mouth, very nice concentration, full of ripe tannins, baked rocks, blackberries, light spices/blackpepper and meat flavors, with a strong final on warm bbq spices and concentrated beef jerky. I liked it very, while very young. For the price, can't complaint for sure. TN: 91.
Highly recommended, with a spicy steak or game.
