The 2002 Vina Tondonia

Post by Nicklasss »

R. Lopez de Heredia don't know the word "fashion".

Traditional, is a word that fit more. That 2002 Vina Tondonia Reserva needed 2 hours in a decanter, to become a very nice wine. Closed and old wood at first, i could not believe it would stay like that. The medium red light orange redish rim wine, with a clear nose of plums, green tobacco, basalm wood, light sweet cherries, red licorice. Medium aromatics. In mouth, a lot of wood, but with character, acids, sour cherries, pomegranate, light cinnamon and red prunes. Final is not very long, and don't look for concentration or modernity in that wine, but very genuine, light tannins. TN: 87.

Nic I had the 2002 Tondonia Blanco the other night. What a delicious high acid white that really opened up with air. R. Lopez de Heredia is very traditional and seldom disappoints me.
