Bordeaux Wine Enthusiasts

Welcome to our new message board!

Today we begin a new, exciting era for Bordeaux Wine Enthusiasts. After nearly nine years in the MSN system, we have created this new site. It is still somewhat of a work in progress, but it seems to have all of the basic functions necessary for a successful wine forum. We are working on additional features, like a BWE archive and integration with Cellartracker. We have a great management team in place: Scott Cardone, David Glasser, Phil Reeve, Michael Case, and Alex Rychlewski.

I am immensely grateful to the assistant managers for all of the hard work put into this project over the past couple months. I am especially grateful to Phil Reeve from the UK, without whose expertise this site would not have been possible.

And finally, I would like to thank all of the many BWEers over the past nine years who have posted hundreds of thousands of messages on BWE with a passion and goodwill unmatched anywhere else in the world. It is all of you, ultimately, who have made our community so successful.

We look forward to seeing all of you here, and continuing lifelong friendships, for many years to come!

Thanks, folks! I'm looking forward to continuing the journey. BWE is where I met my very first "offline" contacts for sharing wine together. That has grown and grown in concentric circles since then, but it all started here (or there, now here, if you follow my drift!).

Yeah I think we should consider this. Would be nice to have user accounts seamlessly linked so it'll take a bit of work. Couple of other things to do first though.

I always check in, and I put the launch in my outlook calendar. I wanted to be one of the first ones in. This is very exciting. Sharing a glass of great Bordeaux (or Burgundy) with friends is the best thing about wine, and this site has always been about that. Look at all of the enduring friendships that have been made here... You cannot argue with its success.

I will always support Jim and BWE!

We need to get together and drink some Bordeaux/Burgundy at some point in 2009 and get caught up on things.

I'm really looking forward to this new site. In honor of this opening day, I hope to post a Bordeaux tasting note later this evening.
