Here Comes The Night............

Post by RDD »

Ruth Chris is having a special.
And no corkage.
So off we go.

I invited a great bass player I know as we've played some shows together and we both lived in New Orleans.

Pol Roger White Foil
2001 Luciano Sandrone Barolo Cannubi Boschis
1999 Leoville Poyferre
2001 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Himmelreich Riesling Eiswein

Then maybe go out "cutting heads" at the clubs.

We had a great time and a headache Saturday.
The plans went haywire though.
First my bud had ordered some Syrah / Malbec mix. It was good.
The sommelier who is now the GM opened a Servin Montee De Tonnerre for us. Nice and crisp with no oak.
The Pol Roger opened with a huge bang that scared the room.
We said "Don't worry. It just the Blues table!" And everyone had a good laugh. Too young with sharp acidity and granny Smith apple peel.
The waiter made a bad joke stating we must like the band Bad Co as we were drinking Paul Rogers wine.
Then a 1994 L'Evangile. The best it's ever shown. Very nice . 92 points.
Then the Icewein. Wonderful! 95 points.

We closed the place down and headed home.

The Sandrone and Leoville Poyferre never got opened.
