TN: Rollin Pernand Vergelesses...

Post by Nicklasss »

Tonight, Marie-Claude wanted some Bourgogne. When I put pressure on her, to choose the wine, 9 times over 10 she says Bourgogne. Don't know why, but this help to think that Bourgogne is more feminine.

So I opened a 2010 Rollin Père et Fils, Pernand Vergelesses 1er Cru Île de Vergelesses (what a long name). A nice wine, clear red color, not very dark, with a seductive nose of red berries, red cherries, ripe strawberries, very light sweet oak. Nice nose. In mouth, good fruity and fresh attack, spicy cherries flavors, something candied, something vegetal, with good acidity on the final, that is short to medium long. Not very fat, and some vine wood bitterness on the final. TN: 88-89.

Those wines from Côte de Beaune, normally get more fat with years. But this wine was already enjoyable.

Your last sentence is interesting. I think of Pernand Vergelesses appellation wines to be drunk fairly young.
