At a dinner function last night (guest speaker was Charles Simonyi talking about his 2nd Soviet space trip earlier this month) we were served this '07 Rhone. Dark red, glossy, nose of cherry and light pepper, this was medium bodied, ripe cherry and cassis in a delicious balance, with tannins well integrated and 13 alcohol not at all noticible (except when driving home!). I'd say this could age for another 5 years, but is drinking great now. About $10, 92 points.

I've been trying a few 07 CDRs with good results. There are some excellent values out there but they all need time.

I recommend to try more different 07 Rhône's - you almost can't go wrong but some 'lesser known' producers made really good stuff...........
