In my next international trips, i will look for more 1978.

In London, i brought a 1978 Canon la Gaffelière at the Saturday dinner, and of course passed a bit ignored in comparison to the highligths wines, but that 1978 was excellent.

My only pricing issue with Boudignon lies with their importer Skurnik as the wholesale price is up $20 year over year but such is life.

This is an interesting wine that I might have to seek out. I'm getting very into Chenin lately and keep trying to find some reasonably priced Bernaudeau. This still isn't cheap but obviously seems like a great value comparatively. Does this beat/compete with white Burgundy of similar price point for you?

That's where my head is at as well - I actually like his wines better than Bernaudeau's and simply do not understand the relative pricing there. Personally, I much prefer it that way (a wine I like better that I can buy for cheaper) and hope his prices don't rise. Clos de la Hutte and Clos de Fremine are my favorites, but the Vigne Cendree is not to be missed either. In my eyes, his wines sort of redefine to me what Chenin Blanc is capable of. Am a huge fan.

Joel - not sure it is a substitute for the upper echelon of White Burgundy, but I would say on a price basis....give me a $100 bottle of Boudignon's over a $100 white burgundy every day; my fear, however, is that prices won't stay at these levels for very long....can never pinpoint exactly when a producer enters into a higher echelon, but I have a local importer in my city (StL) who imports these, and as soon as these wines drop at the local store, they are nearly immediately sold out. So, I do sense that demand and awareness of the value here is growing, unfortunately.

If you look down the article you see that the conflict in this county was triggered by the local government threatening to jail parents who sent their kids to school without a mask during Covid. That kind of insane government overreach quite rightly brings a democratic response.

Drank them up ages ago, but the mid-90's Conn Valley pinots were all terrific, I thought. Impressed they held up this long.
