You'll be happy, Nic. Ask Blanquito and the Comte F about another bottle shared in Denver. This is a great producer.

Two bottles of the 1998 Domaine de Chevalier (rouge) at auction. I really enjoyed the 2000 DDC recently and these 98s were quite fairly priced, so it seemed compulsory.

Found Rauzan Segla 2020 in London at a bargain $74. Also Haut Brion 2020 for $450. I know the 2022 prices are not sticking and will likely come down, but I still backfilling with ‘16 if you can find them, ‘19 and ‘20 makes sense.

Which vintage of Heritage 4, Mark? By coincidence, I am drinking a 2015 Heritage 4 right now with mushrooms and hangar steak. This is an excellent and very pure PN. Sure, it will not hit its peak for probably ten years, but it provides a lot of pleasure now.

Love Volnay champans. My favorite Volnay cru. Have few of those from angerville before their prices took off...

So took a flyer and got one each of the following...

-2018 Joseph Voillot Volnay Champans
-2015 Jean-Marie Bouzereau Volnay Champans

Does anyone have any experience with these producers?

I also got 2020 Lynch Moussas for 35 bucks at a local trader joes. Will try ITNOS...

2015 I believe. The invoice does not specify, but I did request it from Marcus. Agree it is such a great wine.

Blanquito,

Great idea, that 2007 Taittinger Comtes Rose is a very nice Champagne - best to get 2 (or more).

Your Ruinart Rose (which I looked for too but it is nearly 2x the Taittinger) definitely inspired me!

I don’t think you will be disappointed by that 2007 Taittinger Comtes Rose. It’s wonderful - a bit more intense Pinot Noir flavor and different from the more elegant 2007 Dom Ruinart Rose. For me, I love them both and think I have 2 or 3 bottles left of each.

The Taittinger 2007 rose is my go to wine with Spanish Tapas, and non spicy Chinese food. Incredibly versatile and totally delicious.

Sometimes, shit happens! To ease my pain, i really liked the 1996 last May, so i guess the 2016 can just be as great or greater in 15-20 years.

No Jim. You are a BWEer. I found that lonely bottle in a BC Liquors Store. I would never thought that, and was on sale like -40 %. But prices are high here so wasn't that cheap... but i wanted to buy a few bottles in Québec, but was too long and they all disappeared...

I like sooo much 2016, and with Musigny 151 comments and enthusiast on that lamb (or if you prefer, that young Mouton), i couldn't resist. And i don't need to drink it with you Jim, as you have 18 of these...

I think you are in a similar boat to me, Jim. You know what you like and are buying larger quantities of it. I have found that there are fewer wines that impress me; much of it is due to climate change and for me, unappealingly high levels of alcohol. So I end up buying wines I know, particularly older wines such as Magdelaine etc.

I’ve been trying to win some of this for years but I always get wildly outbid. So, I paid more than I hoped but I can live with what it cost.

I was very slow to the 2014 Bordeaux game, but thanks to BWE's continued enablement (and that brilliant bottle of the 14 Calon Segur Jim opened in BWE 2018 - San Francisco), I keep building my holdings:
-Gloria (St. Julien) 2014 x 1
-Haut Bailly (Pessac) 2014 x 3
-Leoville Barton (St. Julien) 2014 x 6
-Montrose (St. Estephe) 2014 x 4
-Sociando Mallet Cuvée Jean Gautreau (Haut-Médoc) 2014 x 3 magnums
-Vieux Chateau Certan (Pomerol) 2014 x 7

And now 6 bottles of the 2014 Pichon Lalande for $115/each all-in. A good day at the office.
