I think so, Jon. WineSearcherPro does not show availability anywhere.

Nice buys, Lee. I'd be very curious about that 1985 Haut Bailly. The 1990 was lovely in London. The 2000 and 1995 very good recently as well. Mind if I ask what you were able to get those for?

Thanks....the Haut Bailly was $129 and the LdH was $42. I'll be curious on those 1985's. Some variation....

After a visit at the property Alderlea Vineyards on Vancouver Island in August, i bought and received today :

1 case of 2020 Clarinet (wine of marechal foch)
1 case of 2022 rosé frizzante (merlot, pinot noir and pinot gris)
1 case of 2022 Sauvignon Blanc.

All these wines were very typical and representing perfectly their grape varieties. Lot of finesse and nice complexity for all of them. The Sauvignon is like a "mini-Sancerre".

A bunch of 2011-2013 Bedrock Syrahs - opened the 2011 Weill Expositions for a tasting recently and they were loved and could easily match the actual LaLa’s, so reloaded.

Yesterday after tasting at St. Innocent I bought

9 2019 Momtazi PN
9 2019 Freedom Hill PN
9 2019 Temperance Hill PN
9 2018 Shea PN
12 2022 Freedom Hill Pinot Blanc

I thought to store them in two empty Lanbo wine refrigerators, but the bottles don't fit! I might write Mark a nasty letter about the bottles he uses. I'll either have to remove shelving from the fridges or move Bordeaux from the wine room to the fridges to make room for the SI. Grrr.

Stefan, has he changed bottle size/shape. I don't recall them being unusual, but I've not bought anything past 2018.

Same shape, Jon. Not worse than many other OR PN bottles, but larger than desirable. There are few Burgundy bottles that cause me problems.

I may have already posted these when I bought them, but they showed up today:
2014 Leoville Barton x 12
2016 Leoville Barton x 6

Right in the middle of trick or treating, too. The FedEx guy must’ve been dodging dozens of kids. He rang and left it without even getting a signature. A treat for sure!

My pending deliveries list is empty for the first time in a long time.

My rate of acquisition seems to be slowing as I contemplate what I will do with all my wines if/when we make a move. Currently I have about 2/3 of my wines in an offsite storage and 1/3 at home in a passive storage area. What I've been adding is mostly not Bordeaux since I've got quite a bit at or near drinking windows. Additions the past few months include:

6 x 2019 Pontet Canet (bought on futures, but only recently picked up)
12 x 2020 Felsina Chianti Classico Berardenga
12 x 2021 Produttori del Barbaresco Lange Nebbiolo
12 x 2021 Barraud Pouilly Fuisse Alliance Vieilles Vignes
12 x 2020 Guillot-Broux Bourgogne Les Genievrieres
12 x 2021 Anne Amie Pinot Noir Two Estates
12 x 2019 Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco
12 x 2020 Saint Cosme Cotes du Rhone Les Deux Albion

Nice buying. I've had the 16 and thought it was beautiful, as was the 15.

Surprisingly, the 14 was really disappointing (nothing like the 15 or 16).

Interesting old Piedmont buys. Especially the Borgogno's from "off" vintages. I love old Borgogno and am curious to hear how those turn out.

Joel, these Borolos recently arrived in New York City from Borgogno's cellars, so there is a reasonable possibility that they will be enjoyable. With older wines of good provenance, I tend to overlook vintage charts, but it is often hit or miss. I'll post comments when I open these.

Sounds good. I plan to open a 1964 again soon. That or the 1958 have been my favorites so far. Very different wines. The 1964 is big and jammy, almost extracted. Had it not had the red foil, I would have thought it was a reconditioned one from the winery that was topped off. Huge and tannic, but did soften fairly quickly in the decanter. The 1958 is a lot more subtle and balanced, creamy even. Didn't need as long of a decant.

It will probably be time to have another old Piedmont dinner in the next few months in DC. Feel free to message me if you you might like to come down and join in.

I had a couple of bottles of 1947 Borgogno, one at age 70 and one at 75. They were the red capsule original bottling, not the black capsule bottles reconditioned at the winery. I stood them up for 2 months prior to opening. Corks were soft but came out intact with a Durand (highly recommended). They needed at least 6 hours to develop the wonderful complexity that old Barolo is known for. Until then, they were mostly dusty, mushroomy, great granny’s old closet.
