Ha other than about 15 Germans, I have exactly one white in my cellar, JC, a bottle that Tom and Gail brought to my house last fall. I have about 700 red Bordeaux and about 70 red Burgundies in my cellar, a smattering or Brunellos, and one Chateuneuf. About a dozen Sauternes and two bottles of 2008 Dom. I drink red Bordeaux with my lobster, I’ll be drinking a nice Bordeaux tonight with a nice cut of sockeye salmon. Mmmm.

I’m sure I’ll buy the sporadic bottle of champagne here, a Geyserville or Chianti there, but I really do not intend to buy more than a mixed case or so per year from here on out.

You're my kinda Bordeaux lover JIm!
Tonight I opened a bottle of Paso Robles Cabernet a customer sent me as a gift and I had to open a bottle of Graves along with it as a safety valve..

After work last night I popped over to the local Total Wine to pick up a few bottles and talked the Wine Manager into giving me 15% off instead of the usual 10%. I had convinced myself before going in that it was better for me to buy two bottles of something less expensive and wait for another time on the bottle of '14 Pichon Comtesse which I've wanted a third one in my cellar. But Rolf was receptive to my pitch so I added it and the two less expensive bottles ('14 La Croix) as well.
I hadn't been in the store much this year, or talked with Rolf at all really so I asked him if there was anything good in the tasting room. I had coravin samples of three Napa cabs (Levendi 15th Anniversary, Levendi Sweetwater, Pina Oakville) and bs'ed with Rolf about Italian wine for over half an hour as he's travelling to Italy on the company dime next week. The cabernets were good but still not what I want in my cellar.

Here's what I bought:
1x 2014 Pichon Comtesse de Lalande
2x 2014 La Croix Ducru Beaucaillou
2x 2015 Lilian Ladouys
2x 2016 Capbern
1x 2016 de Camarsac
1x 2016 Haura

As in May I had a holiday here in a property for sale in Côte d'Azur, France I bought there 2010 Château du Coing. Really nice one, I liked it a lot. Probably will buy it again when I have opportunity.

Successfully maintaining my summertime freeze. So far...
If MacArthurs had any of the 2014 Mikulski Poruzots Meursault we had Saturday night in stock I would have failed.

I broke down and bought 4 bottles of the 2002 Pichon Lalande. As part of the freeze exemption relief, at least one of these has Jim's name on it.

I did alright today, I convinced the NH liquor store to give me a 15% discount on 24 bottles.
The prices ended up being quite good:

2014 Clerc Milon, 12 bottles in owc @ $52.25 each.
2014 Pichon Lalande, 10 bottles @ $99.44 each.
2014 Ducru Beaucaillou, 2 bottles @ $116.99 each.

Good catch, Jim, on the 2014 Pichon Lalande - great price to0!

I think William P also did well to get that 2015 Branaire at a great price.

Like your 2014s, I paid $100/each for my four 2002 Pichon Lalande. We’ll compare them side by side soon, I hope.

Jim, nicely done indeed and I'd be interested in your take on the 2014 Clerc Milon as I just had a btl recently and it would be fun to see how your take matches up. Between, didn't we already discuss doing a group tasting of a particular wine, as maybe we should try and revive that idea as it sounds fun.

I’m kicking myself a little JC, I bought the Clerc Milon based on your recent note. They had 14 bottles, I should have bought at least one more to taste ITNOS. Now I have this sealed owc that I can’t break otherwise they will all be gone within 18 months.

Funny, I actually looked for that Mikulski on their website during our dinner but didn’t find the Poruzots bottling. Glad they found a good home, though. Though like Jimmy Carter I lusted in my heart, my freeze remains intact.

Definitely have at least one with Jim’s name on it!

Ok Jim, we'll find a date for lobster and a Mikulski. I need to find another white Bourgogne like that one! It will be tough.

My discipline has totally unravelled again.

2014 La Conseillante (case of) ... on the basis that it is less than half the price of the newly-released 2018.

It’s true those gold trim on deep black Palmer bottles feel very reassuring to own. Best color scheme in Bordeaux, especially with the red capsule
