Thank you, Jacques.

When the Bug finally dies, we need an unofficial BWE South meeting focusing on white Burg (and Florida fishies). Maybe you’d like to try some of that Lamy Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet.

Yesterday I broke down and bought 2019 Bordeaux futures. I exercised admirable restraint ( ) in limiting the numbers of bottles:

2019 Clinet x 2
2019 Conseillante x 2
2019 Haut Bailly x 6
2019 Haut Brion x 2
2019 Lynch Bages x 6
2019 Montrose x 4
2019 Palmer x 4
2019 Talbot x 6

Then I started feeling bad about ordering so much wine that will take 20 years to start drinking well. Then the store just down the street sent an email announcing a big Father's Day sale. They usually have a few bottles with some age on them, and my past experiences with them have been good. So today I took advantage of the opportunity to assuage my conscience and balance out my futures purchase with:

2015 Les Carmes Haut Brion x 7
2010 Beychevelle x 8
2010 d'Issan x 2
2010 du Tertre x 1
2010 Talbot x 1
2009 Cantemerle x 3

David, you have the true BWE spirit: You feel so guilty about buying wine that you immediately buy more!

There is a reason why, in the event of the death/disability/25th Amendment removal of the BD, David becomes David I, the next benevolent dictator of Bordeaux Wine Enthusiasts, the greatest wine web site on the internet.

Instead of wines I bought, here are the latest wines I pulled from my offsite storage (one bottle each unless otherwise noted):

2011 Jamet Cote Rotie
2014 Domaine Des Roche Neuves Les Memoires
2014 Huet Demi-Sec Le Mont
2000 Chateau Malescot Exupery
2014 Les Haut de Smith Blanc
Two bottles 2014 Fevre Les Lys
2000 Sociando Mallet
1996 Sociando Mallet

They are next on deck for drinking!

Inspired by BD, I got couple of 16 pedesclaux from local costco for 49... Generally I don’t open a growth property for dozen or so years, especially in a decent vintage, but I feel tempted, as I don’t recall tasting it at UGC...

Picked up a few wines at an Auction last night:

2 x GPL 2015
3 x Saint Pierre 2016

They weren’t bargains but I was keen to backfill where I could. I was hoping the purchases were going to be cost neutral as I had listed a Coravin for sale but didn’t get any bites.

There were some nice wines for sale though as a private collector was selling up e.g. Lynch Bages 89, lots of GPL, Barton etc, etc…

Do you know what the '89 Lynch went for, Ian?
I paid a small fortune for three bottles recently out of California.

The one bottle went for $494 (NZ) Jim, so - $319 US if my currency conversion is correct. Beyond my budget I'm afraid...

I wish I had taken the plunge on some GPL 12 and 14s as I missed out on some other wines and would have got them with the bid I had in mind.
Ian.

Yeah, '89 Lynch prices are crazy, I mean, I guess that's what I expect for the greatest wine ever produced.

2 bottles of 2019 Tempier Bandol Rosé and holy shit has the price gone up! $56 per bottle in Florida with a minuscule allocation. I normally would have bought six but two will be enough for now. Most I've ever paid for a rosé. Fucking tariffs.
Best
