Good catch OrlandoRobert, I snagged the last 4 L'eglise client 2012. 125 seemed like a steal. Also splurged on a Lucien Le Moine Clos De La Roche 2012 for 225.

I traded another bottle of 1978 Palmer + $100 cash for some unplanned carburetor repairs my friend needed last week.

Above is why I stopped driving German cars since I don't have Palmer to pay for repairs!

Nice. I'm a believer that, as great as the 2015 vintage was in Margaux, 2016 is even better because of the overall heights of the vintage.
In the end it's probably more a difference in the styles of the vintages from that great triumvirate of 14/15/16, you really can't go wrong.

6 bottles of the 2016 Baudry Clos Guillot on sale for $25.
3 bottle of the 2016 Foillard Cote du Py for $40.

I blame Alfert (again).

You are learning, Grasshopper! And an amazing price for the Baudry.

And in a turn of the tides, based on the glorious BWE pressure and hegemony, I bent against my near-implacable will, and actually bought some 2016 Chateau Meyney. Was on sale for $37 at ABC so took a flayer. This once-fave of Meyney has been DTM for a while.

Bold prediction of the day: you will ‘not like’ the 2016 Meyney.

With all the banter about 1989 Lynch Bages and with Neal Martin saying that the 2016 is the best vintage since, I succumbed to an offer for £543ib/6. The 1989 costs £3900/12.

Looks like NM and others like the 2019 Lynch as well, and it "only" goes for about $100.

Martin rated it 95-97, and Galloni rated it 96-98. Both reviews were gushing. Martin's drinking window was 2026-2060.

The 2016 Lynch is expensive in NH, $170, it'll be $145 on sale in a couple weeks. Maybe I'll buy one bottle.
Still haven't heard back from them on my offer, it looks like all the wines I want are still in plentiful stock.

I capitulated...

Started to slowly wade into 2019s with splits, as the retailer offered that I will have the option to cancel order later even if tariffs come into place...

3 splits of 2019 Branaire
3 splits of 2019 Clinet
3 splits of 2019 DdC rouge

Our own gbf and JL had glowing reviews about DdC, and also couldn’t resist the 13% abv (but damn, I may have to pay tariff tax)..,

That's right blanquito. They are making some nice juice lately. Not bad for 20 bucks a split of 19 branaire. Now I need some regular bottles of Branaire after I round out my other split purchases first, lest it's hard to get in split format later...

Speaking of Branaire-Ducru, I finally added 2 6packs of the 2016 for $59.99/btl + tax from Vintage Grapes out on the Island, private client pricing.

I second this. I was quite taken with the 2016 Branaire (and St. Julien in general) at the UGC last year.

I paid $55 for it when it was still prearrival.

2 2000 Cos d'Estournel
1 2001 Cos d'Estournel
1 2001 Ducru Beaucaillou
1 2000 Montrose
2 1995 Leoville Las Cases
1 1996 Lynch Bages
2 1996 Pichon Baron
2 1995 Pichon Lalande
3 1996 Gruaud Larose

$2,275.50 all in for the 15 bottles. Not exactly a bargain, but a nice selection of oldish Bordeaux that I can have shipped to Oregon. I get tired of carrying cases on the airplane.

2 X 2016 Fonbadet

1 x 2016 Ferriere

Plus:

3 x 2018 Gonon Iles Feray.
