😊 Thank you! Looking forward to drinking some wine with you in the future.
Hoping to be able to attend some BWE meeting soon, just going to be busy with one of the biggest things in my life during the fall.

Nice order Chris, please let us know how the 2008 Lilian is doing. Never had it that old, would be interesting to hear.

That’s a strong score! I bought 3 last year, and like a fool, drank them all, lol. Really like this vintage of VCC, and was 1/2 the cost of a new release VCC. Makes it an easy choice.

Happy Friday!

I caved and ordered one of those Chapoutier Petite Ruche's too.

Drank a California NV Mumm [Napa] with family/friends on Sunday, which was kind of sweet. And then a 2020 Ferrari Carano Fume Blanc too, which was good, would not have recognized it as S.B. grape. That whole crowd pretty much only likes commercial whites.

Wow!! I’ll bet those are beauties, remember, I think the right bank is every bit as good as the left bank in 2014.

There was a big auction here yesterday and today with 1002 lots in which I scooped up what I hope will be some pre-premox early 90s white burgs. I got six lots:

#1: 6 x Duplessis Chablis Montmains 1998 for £90 - the colour looked v healthy on these, love this producer - his wines tend to age v well.
#2: 6 x Fontaine-Gagnard CM 1er Cru Vergers 1994 and 6 x Louis Latour Corton Charlemagne 1991 - some of the Gagnards look ominously dark: I am expecting most of them to be premoxed but the LLCC’s have a healthy appearance. For £280 this is a calculated risk. Three good bottles of LLCC and I am well in the money. This is Russian Roulette in wine buying. Fingers and toes crossed.
#3: 12 x Chateau de Meursault Meursault 1992 for £130. Colour and level on these look good.
#4: 6 x Haut-Brion 1967 for £480. Variable levels but all have a great colour. Good reviews for this on CT.
#5 6 x Ch. Margaux 2010 for £2600 in bond for investment
# 6 6 x Hermitage Vignerons Reunis a Tain 1992 - never heard of this but good colour and excellent levels for £160

Yes indeed Robert. I heard they are drinking very well already. I have a reasonable stash of VCC now: 98, 00, 01, 04 and 14. Like David I blame Mark for the enablement.

Antoine if you invite me over for dinner I will bring some of my winnings...albeit in the knowledge that Isabel prefers Mouton Rothschild to Haut-Brion...

Like every year, it was the DRC lotery last weekend, the 2017. Maximum order was one bottle of each, this is what I did. Unfortunately, no luck...

Bottles available, between 11 and 41, depending of the aoc (41 were for Richebourg and La Tâche, and 11 for all the other, except Romanée-Conti that was not offered), for all Québec consumers...

Tonight, opened a 2019 Louis Claude Desvignes Voulte Saint Vincent Morgon tonight, and this is a refined and very good Morgon.

1978 Palmer has an incredible aroma, one of the most seductive I've ever noticed in any wine.

Yeah, Patrick, I thought you had lost your mind bidding on La Lagune swill. You must have friends who have no taste for fine wine.

Lol.... I’m just giving you guys the business.
Jury has been out nearly 5 hours in my aggravated trafficking trial, they just came back with a note saying they are 6-6 on a verdict. The judge told them to go back in and deliberate. They just requested more coffee at 4pm in the afternoon. Yuck.

Picked up a case of the recently arrived new disgorgement of the Champagne Savart, 1er Cru Brut L’Ouverture (NV), which is their entry level Blanc de Noirs that is quickly becoming my favorite value grower champagne offering.

You would have loved that 1987 Certan de May I drank last week, with about 25% Cab Franc.

That’s cool! Seems like in so-called off year, some Poms have higher Cab Franc. VCC is like that as well. I love those.

I had a 90 Sociando blind recently — a wine I’ve had at least a dozen times before — and I swore it was an 89 Loire cab franc like the Couly-Dutheil Clos de l'Olive.

Two things always shock me about this Château, especially when I taste it blind. First, it generally only has about 5% Cabernet Franc in the cepage. Second, they tend to use 100% new French oak. Even in a solar year like 2000, you can easily mistake this for something from the Loire Valley. Not surprisingly, this is one of my all-time favorite Château in Bordeaux.
